Brookfield, WI - The estate planning law firm Grieve Civil Law grants Vy Vu a $500 scholarship to attend Marquette University. Picked from applicants from all over the state, Vy Vu is the winner thanks to her inspiring essay, where she was asked to reflect on the notion of planning for the future and the concept that decisions made today can impact them for the rest of their lives.
Grieve Civil Law offers an annual scholarship to graduating high school seniors or college students of any year. Any student can apply as long as they plan to attend an accredited college or trade school in the coming year and provide the necessary information. Applicants are asked to send in their most recent transcript and an essay discussing the year's prompt.
“At its core, estate planning is about building a thoughtful future, and that begins long before someone drafts a will or trust,” said Tom Grieve, Grieve Civil Law’s CEO and Founder. “We were inspired by the students who reflected deeply on how their choices today can shape the years ahead. Their essays remind us that planning isn’t just a legal process—it’s a mindset that empowers people to create the future they envision.”
In her essay, Vu discusses how true future planning is not about the small decisions made, but rather “focuses on the present activities that relate to a long-term vision based on my values, identity, and purpose.” She explains that long-term vision needs to be based on values, identity, and purpose, so she can use that vision to help make ongoing decisions that impact her future.
Vu is currently attending Marquette University in Milwaukee. She is passionate about her community and her goal is to start a low-cost occupational therapy clinic where she can provide equitable and accessible care. Grieve Civil Law is confident that Vy Vu will continue to use her foresight to help her accomplish her goals, and the firm is glad to have been able to help her on her journey.
